The guards’ attire is also incredibly beautiful.

We make a pit stop in Volubilis, north of Meknes, to explore the vast and dispersed Roman ruins there. Hiring a local, knowledgeable guide here is definitely worthwhile. Views of the valley and hills are stunning from the plain. Continue on to Fes for dinner and a riad stay that night.
