4 days desert tour from Ouarzazate Overview :

After your desert excursions, the perfect desert trip from Ouarzazate might end in Agadir at a beach resort hotel where you can unwind by the pool. Just that is possible by taking our best 4 days desert tour from Ouarzazate, which includes a night spent in Merzouga’s renowned Erg Chebbi dunes. The Atlantic Ocean and the Sahara Desert make for a stunning contrast.

On this tour to the desert near Ouarzazate, you’ll observe a variety of Berber culture in action along the way. So, we advise going to the Skoura oasis to take pictures of the exquisitely renovated Kasbah Amredhil. At the neighborhood cooperatives in the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, you can sample the deliciously perfumed Damascene rose products. You arrive at the verdant Dades Valley after taking an extraordinary off-road path through a desolate area. The Toudgha gorges are later visited after these gorges.

You will see Berber rural life all along the road. The highlights of your time in the desert include capturing pictures of you wearing blue turbans while seated patiently on camels against a stunning sunset. Enjoy a traditional supper among the splendor of the Erg Chebbi dunes while sipping a traditional Moroccan mint tea with the nomads. Around a bonfire later on, you can dance to the unique rhythms of Berber music. You may unwind and recharge during the night in your private, cozy tent close to the tall dunes.

Additionally, you will spend the night in real guesthouses. At panoramic vista points, you pause to take pictures and get some fresh air. These locations include Taroudant, known as “the tiny Marrakech,” with its enormous ramparts, Talouine, the center of saffron cultivation, and Taznakht, the town of Berber rug and carpet cooperatives.

4 days desert tour from Ouarzazate itinerary :

Day 1: Ouarzazate _ Dades Gorges

Your 4-day trip from Ouarzazate to Merzouga will begin with a pick-up in Ouarzazate, followed by a drive to the renowned Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has served as the backdrop for numerous films, including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, the well-known Game of Thrones, and many others. Continue to Dades Gorges via Ouarzazate along the “Road of the Thousand Kasbahs” after lunch in Ait Ben Haddou village. Spend the night at a hotel or riad in Dades Gorges after arriving in the evening.

Day 2: Dades Gorges _ Merzouga

After a great breakfast to start the second day of our 4-day Ouarzazate to Merzouga desert tour, we’ll head to the Todra Gorges for a walk beneath the cliffs’ 300-meter height. Then we will continue on to Merzouga, where a skilled camel guy and his camels will be waiting to transport us for around 30 minutes across the magnificent Merzouga dunes to the camp. Spend the evening outside with the locals.

Day 3: Merzouga _ Agdez

If you get up early enough, you can witness the sunrise, when the dunes’ color and the shadows’ interaction create an amazing sight. The trip continues to the Dra’a Valley by a southern path, passing through the Tazzarine village (which appeared in the movie “Babel”) before continuing to N’Qob for lunch.

The drive takes us to Tansikht in the afternoon, when we cross the Dra’a River, which creates Morocco’s largest river valley. Just after the Tansikht turning north, ask the driver to show you the dinosaur footprints at the side of the road. The actual Dra’a Valley with its enormous palm trees and historic settlements is then revealed as you travel down the old caravan route. We make our overnight halt at Agdez in the end of the afternoon.

Day 4: Agdz _ Agadir

After breakfast, we go from Agdz to Taznakht, known for its carpets and gelims made by the Berber people. We pass the Bouazzer cobalt mines along the route and go through picturesque scenery. This area of the nation is more remote and undiscovered.

The Tizi-n-Ikhsane and Tizi-n-Tighatine passes are later crossed as we go west toward Agadir. We pause for lunch in Taliouine, the center of Morocco’s saffron-growing region, where there is a wonderful tiny museum dedicated to the craft of saffron cultivation.

Your 4 days desert tour from Ouarzazate comes to an end as the route leads us back to Taroudant in the late afternoon, where we follow the frequently dry Souss River and countless argan trees on every slope of the hillside back to Agadir.
