Day 1 : Tangier _ Chefchaouen _ Fes

Your driver from Sahara Camel Trips will pick you up at your hotel, airport, or port to begin your 6 days desert tour from Tangier through the breathtaking Rif Mountains. Passing through Tetouan, to the picturesque blue city of Chefchaouen, you will have time to explore this enthralling tiny town.

Visit its old medina, Ras el Ma, or “head of the water,”. It is where the fresh mountain cascade seeps its way into the town, and stroll through its winding streets painted in blue and white. that will allow you to capture some lovely images. You’ll have a delectable lunch at a neighborhood eatery.

After your tour concludes, we will continue immediately to Fes while taking in the beautiful views of the Rif mountains and the lush landscapes of the north of Morocco. We will arrive in Fes in the late afternoon and spend the night at a beautifully decorated hotel or riad.

Day 2 : Fes Sightseeing tour

The tour of Fes will begin after breakfast in your riad. Fes is the oldest, richest, culturally diverse, spiritually enigmatic, and oldest of the four imperial towns of Morocco. You’ll see that it hasn’t changed much through the years.

You will learn about the history of the Jews in Morocco when you visit the Royal Palace gate yard and the old Jewish neighborhood known as Mellah. The tile art factory is included in your visit, followed by a breathtaking aerial view of the city.

Following that, you’ll embark on a walking tour of the city’s winding alleyways. We will stop by the well-known historic tanneries, the Quaraouine Mosque, the oldest university in the world, the Attarin Medersa, and the Najjarin Fountain before being driven back to your riad.

Day 3:Fes _ Middle Atlas mountains _ Tiz'n Talghamt _ Ziz Valley _ Merzouga Desert

Stop in the lovely city of Ifrane (often referred to as “Moroccan Switzerland”) before continuing to Azrou, a famous cedar forest where you may see monkeys, before stopping for lunch in the town of Midelt.

Then, we’ll travel via the lovely Ziz Valley to Erfoud, which is famed for its annual dates market and fossils, where we’ll stop to observe a lovely panoramic view with the landscape of the oasis. By the time we get there, it will be time for supper and an overnight stay at a hotel in Merzouga.

Day 4: Explore Merzouga area _ Erg Chebbi _ Camel Trek and Night at desert Camp

After breakfast at your hotel, we will begin our Merzouga 44 excursion to explore the various and interesting sites near the Erg Chebbi dunes. We will first stop at the Hassi Labied oasis to see its irrigation canal and land agriculture. Then, we will travel south to the seasonally active Sriji lake (if there is water in it).

If you’d like to hear the Gnawa music of the people with dark skin who immigrated to Morocco over a century ago and were forced to work as slaves, we’ll go on to Khamlia Village. Then, we’ll move on to the M’ifis mines. Along with its fame for tourism, the Merzouga Desert is well-known for its minerals and fossils.

The opportunity to visit a nomadic Berber family still residing in their tent in the heart of the Sahara will present itself to us on our Merzouga 44 desert tour. We will share a drink of mint tea with them and learn about their way of life while also getting a glimpse into their way of life.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll return to the village. From here, you’ll go camel trekking to reach our Berber Camp in Merzouga. The camel ride takes one to one and a half hours with a break on top of the dunes to watch the sunset. If you’re interested in trying sandboarding, you can do so here. We’ll also stop to enjoy the scenery and take pictures of the sights at various panoramic viewpoints.

After arriving at the camp, you’ll be greeted with a glass of tea and given time to unwind before supper, which will be followed by some traditional Berber drumming. You can then take in the starry sky and sleep in a nomadic tent.

Day 5:Merzouga _ Todgha Gorge _ Dades Valley

Given that you are already in the desert, it is worthwhile to rise early this morning to catch the sunrise close to your camp. Following these lovely moments, you will eat breakfast and take a shower at the camp, after which you can either ride camels or take a 4WD transfer back to the starting point to meet your driver.
